The High-level Virtual Conference of the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM)

With the Participation of the Iranian National Tax Administration (INTA) Was Held:

The High-level Virtual Conference of 
the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism (BRITACOM)

The High-level Virtual Conference of BRITACOM titled “New Challenges, New Opportunities and New Future, Development Planning of Tax Digitalization in the Context of the Global Pandemic” was held, with the participation of  high-ranking tax officials of member states.
As the Iranian Tax Medium reports, the High-level Virtual Conference of BRITACOM was held on 15 December, 2020,with the participation of 164 officials from 45 countries and international organizations, including Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Angola, Hungary, I. R. Iran, Malaysia, Russia and China.
Introducing the Iranian National Tax Administration and its objectives and missions, an INTA’s representative presented his lecture entitled “Intelligent Tax System”, explaining the INTA’s strategies, the road map, its plans for the establishment of an intelligent tax system, the main components and the conceptual model of Intelligent Tax System (ITS) as the final outcome of the Taxpayers Economic Profile System and the Single Window of E-payment Services.
The tax experts from the IMF, the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Tax Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) discussed the tax digitalization’s support of national governance, targeting the challenges and the constructive solutions and the best practices of other countries.
The conference was concluded by the final statement and the explanation of the road map of BRITACOM responding Covid-19 as well as the promotion of digitalization of tax management among member states of BRITACOM. 
It is also mentionable that a BRITACOM Conference was held in March 2019 in Wuzhen in order to recognize the need for a long-term tax cooperation among BRITACOM member states as a practical measure aiming at strengthening the rule of law in taxation, promotion of taxpayers’ services, streamlining tax dispute settlement processes and sharing the best practices, where BRITACOM was officially established, pursuant to signing a Memorandum of Understanding by participating states. By signing the mentioned instrument, the INTA became a member to the BRITACOM as an observer.
