INTA is in charge of assessing, estimating and collecting taxes including direct and indirect taxes. It includes 38 tax general offices throughout the country (including 8 tax general offices in Tehran) which perform their duties under the supervision of the central headquarter. The headquarter administration locating in Tehran includes 5 deputies and 24 offices/head departments. It is worth mentioning that tax general offices consist of tax affairs offices are, in their own turns, divided into several tax units as their smallest branches.

Large taxpayers TGO, corporate TGOs and VAT deputy are in charge of collecting tax liabilities of large legal entities and of collecting VAT taxes respectively.
