Change Management

Three IMF-INTA Joined Workshops Held in Tehran

The first course dealt with the Change Management, in describing the role of Management and Leadership, Mr. Vesperman talked about the cycle including knowing, doing and being elements.  Then, the issues of manager capabilities, capability building, personnel engagement, capacity building and promotion of performance, setting the journey clearly in the change management, obtaining effective outcomes in the business, decision making and risk management were duly examined.  Change management psychology including the provision of a compelling story, role modeling, strengthening mechanisms, and capability building, constituted the next agenda.  The diagram depicting the team resistance to change and different phases of leaving the old house, beginning the journey to change, and getting to the destination, as well as strategies to confront these reactions at the operational and motivational levels was introduced, which brought about interesting talks.   During these three days, the INTA colleagues from different departments, particularly the Tax Administration Renovation and Automation (TARA) Project, its Change Management Project and the Office for International Tax Treaties and Affairs worked in small groups and talked about their ideas for changing the existing business processes in their area of work, which sometimes resulted in hot discussions. Detailed reports on the TARA project and change management in INTA,excited Mr. Vesperman, so that he repeatedly applauded the successes of TARA and its projects.
