Three IMF-INTA Joined Workshops Held in Tehran



The last three days of the IMF Technical Assistance Program dealt with the Taxpayers Services with the agendas of business models based on self-assessment, compliance model, risk management, different types of auditing, measures for promotion of efficiency, fines and interest regime,compliance program and common errors in the implementation of this program.   The taxpayers obligations in the framework of registration for tax purposes, record keeping in a correct way,filing of tax returns in a complete and timely manner, on time payment of tax were also examined.   Methods of taxpayers compliance promotion in the areas of taxpayers’ assistance for understanding their obligations and rights, making the compliance as easy a feasible for taxpayers, evaluation of compliance using the risk management approach accompanied by the related working methods were duly explained.   The Australian Tax Organization experiences in the way of optimization of taxpayers services and the compliance model consisting of the psychological, business profile, industry type, economic, and social factors effective on the compliance, the complete compliance plan for taxpayers, and IT support formed a great part of discussions.  Mr. Vesperman appreciated the brain storming session of participant in small groups during the third Workshop and subsequently praised their active engagement in the promotion of the technical assistance.
